Older adult group Fitness Training      (ages 55+)

A convenient, comfortable solution to physical fitness for older adults.

Strength training to build and maintain your muscles is an essential element to active living and healthy aging.

In the Bracebridge and Huntsville areas, little has been available in the way of fitness programs for older adults who are physically unable to go offsite, or simply prefer the comfort and privacy of their home, cottage or retirement facility. That’s why I’m offering in-home personal training, including bringing my high-end, portable strength and fitness training equipment to train you and up to 15 of your friends.

As a certified Can-Fit-Pro personal trainer and older-adult fitness specialist, my goal is to ensure that you feel comfortable and in control at all times, while experiencing a safe, effective and enjoyable training workout designed to meet your personal needs. My personalized approach to developing workout programs considers existing medical conditions such as arthritis, osteoporosis, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and hearing and visual impairment.

My premium exercise program for older adults focuses on manageable physical challenge, mental stimulation, stress release and fun! Rather than trying to achieve everything for everyone, I identify one or two group goals that address a specific health issue, such as improving strength and endurance, lowering blood pressure, improving balance for fall prevention, managing arthritis, decreasing bone loss (osteoporosis) and managing diabetes.

Plus my music selection ranges from the ‘40s era to the present and is set at a comfortable volume to add to the total workout experience!

Let’s get started!

Contact me to arrange a free group consultation. We'll discuss your health and fitness goals and follow up with a three-part physicall assessment.

1.   The paperwork – Each of you will read, fill out and sign some forms which may include:

  • a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q),
  • a PARmed-X for medical clearancea Health History Questionnaire
  •  an Activity of Daily Living Questionnaire
  • a Fitness Experience Questionnaire

2.   The fitness assessment – These physical exercises test your aerobic capacity, muscular strength, flexibility, agility, balance and body composition. They are not difficult, so you should feel comfortable at all times.

3.   The results – The first two parts help us determine your current level of fitness which is the basis for discussing and setting your fitness goals.

With your current fitness level and goals in hand, we will design a safe and effective exercise program just for you. On your first day of exercise, We will guide you through the program, modifying it as required. My primary task is to motivate and encourage you with flexibility and patience to ensure you achieve your fitness goals – while having fun, of course!

So don't wait until it's too late to get your body back!
