The decision to lose weight
requires a plan.

When you realize that you have become overweight and that you need to lose weight, then it is important to know that wrong eating habits and physical inactivity not only cause overweight, they affect all four components of fitness, which are your:
  • cardiorespiratory (heart and lungs) capacity,
  • muscular capacity,
  • flexibility,
  • body composition (de percentage of bones, fat, water and muscles).
These four components are part of one and the same system, the human body, and interact with each other. Working on only one of these components, and not taking care of the others at the same time doesn't make sense and is only a waste of time.

If you decide to lose weight, you need to improve your overall level of fitness. This, combined with the fact that it takes time to improve fitness, makes it essential to have a plan that covers nutrition, physical activity, motivation as well as short- and long term goal setting.

But the decision is in itself already worth a compliment. It is a great first step that brings you at the beginning of a proces that will change your way of living.

The fact that you can only reach your goal by improving your overall level of fitness may seem difficult but it doesn't need to be. Not if you plan it right. Of course, it requires effort and the will to make changes as well, but the reward is worth the effort.

Reducing body weight looks so simple; eat less calories than you burn and time will do the rest. The reality is different. Countless people tried and failed or experienced only a temporarily success. The reason is mostly the focus on weight loss only and the lack of a proper plan.

A plan that addresses eating habits, physical activity and perseverance.
